How much does Activewear charge to sew a garment?
A garment sample is needed to accurately cost a garment. Price varies on the difficulty of garment construction.

What are minimum unit requirements?
Purchase orders are a minimum of 300 units per style, this includes all sizes and / or colorways. Purchase Orders less than 300 units are charged at 3 x the production sewing cost.

Does Activewear offer pattern making services?
Activewear only provides contract sewing services. However, we can recommend highly reputable pattern makers we have experience with.

How much does Activewear charge to make samples?
Samples are $50 each (this price may vary depending on the simplicity / difficulty of the actual garment).

How long does it take to make samples?
This varies depending on the quantity of samples and the difficulty of the sewing construction. Generally speaking, under normal circumstances it is approximately 1-3 weeks.

Does Activewear do package programs?
Activewear provides C.M.T. (cut, make and trim) services only at this point in time. Please see our Services page for further information.

Does Activewear provide fabric?
No, the manufacturers provide the fabric.

What is Activewear’s production lead time?
4-6 weeks from the time we receive the cut, complete with trims (components / notions).

What type of garments has Activewear sewn in the past?
Activewear specializes in sportswear clothing and accessories. Garments sewn by Activewear in the past include: cycling apparel (bike shorts, jerseys, bibs, vests, leg warmers and arm warmers), triathalon apparel (tri-suits, shorts, swimsuits), bra tops, running shorts, rash guards, yoga wear, and post-surgical garments.

Accessories sewn by Activewer in the past include: skull caps, balaclavas, face masks, leg warmers, arm warmers, gloves, scarves, head bands and bra tops.

What is spandex?
Spandex (commonly known by its brand name Lycra) is a unique fabric because of its four way stretching capabilities making it ideal for athletic technical wear. Spandex is fairly thin and has a slippery characteristic making it difficult to manipulate when sewing. However, with the correct thread, settings and experienced sewing operator, excellent assembly can be achieved.

What is flatlock?
Flatlock construction, as indicated by its name, creates flat seams with a distinctive look. This seam is most desired in technical performance wear for its reduced chafing qualities compared to other types of seams. Activewear has years of experience with quality flatlock garment construction.

What is sublimation?
Dye sublimation is a printing process used for adding graphics on varioius fabrics. This technique is commonly seen on cycling and tri-athlete apparel. Experience with sewing sublimated garments is valuable in keeping the integrity of the design. Matching images and correctly placing panels of a garment in the proper orientation is necessary to avoid costly mistakes during production. The sewing operators here at Activewear have extensive experience with sublimated fabric and pay great attention to detail ensuring accurate assembly.
